Pilot Workshop: "Forest Knowledge Distilled" – Creating Essential Oils from Native Trees

The pilot workshop "Forest Knowledge Distilled" serves to test the overall concept under real-world conditions and to gather valuable feedback for optimization. "Forest Knowledge Distilled" combines traditional nature knowledge with modern maker culture. Participants learn to extract essential oils from native coniferous trees of the Schlaubetal region – from identifying tree species to constructing simple distillation apparatus to scientifically documenting the results. The project integrates all STEAM areas (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) and is aimed at children, teenagers, adults, and families.
